How to remove background colour of top widget sidebar in GenereatePress

Are you having a hard time removing the default background colour of the top widget sidebar in the GenereatePress theme? If yes then you are at the right place.

This problem mainly occurs in the GeneratePress Premium theme when you enable the site library and import the existing website template.

When you import the new starter template from the site library, the coloured top widget sidebar may appear. This GeneratePress sidebar colour is nasty and doesn’t go easily.

To remove the coloured sidebar from the top widget you can follow the below steps.

  • Go to Appearance >> Customize from your WordPress dashboard.

  • WordPress customization dashboard will now appear.
  • From the customization settings, go to Additional CSS.
  • You will see some CSS codes as below.

  • Now completely delete the CSS code and click publish.

The background colour of the top widget sidebar has gone after the CSS has been removed.

That’s it. Now you can see that your top widget sidebar colour has gone for good.

Even after these steps if your widget sidebar colour has not gone in GeneratePress theme then you can follow the below steps:

  • Go to Appearance >> Customize from your WordPress dashboard.
  • From the customization settings, go to Colors >> Sidebar Widgets
  • From the settings see if there are any existing colours set for background. If there’s any colour set, remove it.

So, in this way you can remove the background colour of the top widget sidebar from the GeneratePress theme.
